Local Jeweler Raises over $11,000 during

Live Auction for United Way of Danville Pittsylvania County

A Charity Auction dubbed Gems & Generosity was hosted by Ben David Jewelers on Friday, October 9th, 2009. Proceeds from the event benefit the Danville & Pittsylvania County Community through the local United Way. Ben David Jewelers is proud to have raised over $11,000 during the event.

Ben David Jewelers hosted the Auction with an award winning auctioneer at its store in Danville on Mount Cross Road. The auction included jewelry donated by Ben David Jewelers. Items were also donated by local area businesses & individuals. For a list of item contributors go to www.dpuway.org.

"This is the fifth year we have sponsored this event for the area. We are so proud to have been able to participate along with this wonderful organization and help raise much needed funds for United Way and its partner organizations. All of the 80 plus people who attended can feel proud that they gave to their community," says Mark David, Co-owner of Ben David Jewelers.

United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County invests proceeds from this event directly into local health and human services programs through over twenty area non-profit organizations.

Ben David Jewelers is under the same local family ownership since 1959. Its current owners are Mark & Leon David. The store is located on Mount Cross Road in Danville.
