We have all had a time when someone was there for us when we needed them.  Your United Way gift is invested in programs and organizations who are committed to being that safety net for people in need.

Whether it's disaster relief, fire and rescue, or a critical financial crisis, You're making a difference with your support.

Volunteer Fire, Rescue, and Life Saving
Partners:
  Danville Life Saving Crew, Pittsylvania County Fire and Rescue Association
Objective: Provide an infrastructure of support for our community that delivers high-quality fire and rescue service, accessible to all corners of our region.

Disaster Relief
Partner:
  Danville-Pittsylvania County Chapter of the American Red Cross
Objective: Respond to natural disasters such as fire, storms, etc. with basic needs relief.

Social Services
Partners:
  Salvation Army, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, Area Churches, City of Danville
Objective:  Assist families and individuals with basic needs such as food, utilities, and more.

Alzheimer's/Dementia Life Saving Trackers
Partner:
Pittsylvania County Project Lifesaver
Objective: Assist families in keeping their loved ones safe, or quickly finding them in the event that they lose their way.

Domestic Violence Shelter
Partner:
DOVES
Objective: Provide a safe haven for victims of domestic violence or abuse.

Crisis Hotline / Information and Referral
Partner:
Crisis Line of Danville-Pittsylvania County
Objective: provide a 24-hour place for help, from suicide counseling, to elderly safety assurance, to general information about available social services.

Legal Assistance for Families
Partner:
Virginia Legal Aid Society
Objective:  Provide low-income families with critical legal representation and guidance in situations that affect their families in cases involving evictions, family issues, or other civil cases.

Sheltered Workshop for Disabled
Partner:
DARC - Hatcher Center
Objective: Provide employment, supervision and care, and therapy for individuals with mental and physical disabilities.
